Meeting around "The Commune of Rojava"

Thursday, October 12, 2017 will be held at the cooperative bookstore Envie de Lire, a meeting about the collective work "The Commune of Rojava. The Kurdish alternative to the nation-state "in the presence of authors Chris Den Hond, Mireille Court, Yann Renoult and Jean-Michel Morel. See you at 7:30 pm!

Here is the text by which the bookstore Envie de Lire presents this initiative:

    Notice to the curious new communalist experiences, alternatives to capitalism: this meeting is for you!

    This is a beautiful collective work which, through multiple and varied plumes, tries to illuminate the current revolution as well as the project of democratic and egalitarian society that inspires and guides the populations of Syrian Kurdistan, the Rojava.

    Influenced by the ideological orientations of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the thinking of the American environmental libertarian Murray Bookchin, in a context of war, they try to build a social and political system based on the principle of direct democracy .

    Named "democratic confederalism", this organization is based on the principles of social justice, equality of all, inclusion of minorities and participation in democratic community life.

    Gathering the reflections of some twenty specialists from the Middle East (field activists, solidarity-based intellectuals, protagonists of the Kurdish movement for liberation and solidarity with Rojava), the book is the fruit of a beautiful collective construction and lets see the possibility of another world, better than to do!
