Zapatistas donate to earthquake victims

The Indigenous National Congress (CNI) and the Indigenous Council of
Government (IGC) reported that they have already received "first
monetary support from Zapatista support bases" to be delivered to people
affected by cyclones, hurricanes and earthquakes in Chiapas, Oaxaca,
Puebla, Guerrero, Morelos, Estado de México, Veracruz and Mexico City.
In a statement, they added that the donation, whose amount they did not
mention, was delivered through the Sixth Commission of the Zapatista
Army of National Liberation (EZLN). "They ask us that their destiny be
to the communities, neighborhoods, nations, tribes and native peoples
affected" by the natural disasters of the recent days.
They said that the CNI and the IGC "are already organizing to contact
our original brothers and sisters who suffer the ravages of these
natural catastrophes and to get the help gathered in our own collection
centers."
They said they are also organizing "to form a reconstruction fund that
will allow affected families to repair or rebuild their homes."
They reported that the CNI support centers for indigenous peoples are
located in the Indigenous Peoples Assembly in Defense of the Earth,
located in Fraccionamiento IVO Third street, Juchitán Oaxaca; Totopo
Community Radio, in the Barrio de los Pescadores, Calle Ferrocarril 105,
corner with Insurgentes Avenue, seventh section in Juchitán, Oaxaca.
Likewise, at the Human Rights Center Digna Ochoa A. C., located at Calle
1 de mayo number 73, between Granaditas and Churubusco, colony
Evolución, Tonalá, Chiapas; in Unios, located in Doctor Carmona and
Valle number 32, colonia Doctores, Cuauhtémoc Delegation, Mexico City;
in Rincon Zapatista / Cafeteria Comandanta Ramona, in Zapotecos number
7, colonia Obrera, Cuauhtémoc Delegation, Mexico City.
They said that later "we will announce the bank account for solidarity deposits for the indigenous reconstruction fund".
They expressed that delegates and delegates of the CNI and IGC "are
communicating with our sisters and brothers to know their needs and
their willingness and capacity to support those who need it."
